Sadly, the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas continues. Because of this, there is a high risk of terrorist groups and other violent extremists plotting possible attacks in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. The possible attacks may happen with little or no warning at all, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, government facilities, and public spaces.
In order to protect individuals as much as possible, the US Department of State has issued travel warnings that should be taken into consideration before traveling to any of these territories. You can find the warnings listed below:
Do Not Travel To:
Gaza due to terrorism, civil unrest, and armed conflict
Reconsider Traveling To:
Israel due to terrorism and civil unrest
West Bank due to terrorism and civil unrest
If you are concerned about how this affects your policy, please reach out to your account manager or visit the US Department of State website here.
COVID/Flu season is back!
During this time of the year, the cases of COVID-19 and the flu tend to increase, and as we already know, these viruses can be very contagious. All our plans include coverage for COVID-19 and the seasonal flu, and in many cases, the best course of treatment is over the counter medication and/or a telemedicine consultation.
Your account manager can help you educate your participants about both options, and using telemedicine will be quick for participants and help to lower overall claims on your plan.
Pre-Certification
It’s important to keep in mind that larger and costly services, such as inpatient treatment and surgical procedures may need to be pre-certified in advance, depending on the insurance carrier that your plan works with. The pre-certification requirements will vary from plan to plan, so it is strongly recommended that you encourage participants to check the plan benefits or call the insurance company directly before seeking medical treatment, whenever possible.
The pre-certification process can be started by the sponsoring organization, insured, a family member, or the medical facility directly, and it’s simply a matter of contacting the insurance carrier and providing the details they will need regarding the treatment that’s to be received. For most carriers, a simple email or phone call can get this process started.
Talk to your account manager if you have any questions or concerns.
