The Insider Newsletter from Envisage Global Insurance - insurance news and information for the youth travel and cultural exchange world.
The good news is that the travel ban has finally expired in the USA, but now the challenge around the world appears to be centered around borders opening up, vaccinations and embassies. With many of the world’s embassies closed or only processing emergency visas, many students are struggling to get their visas in time! Coupled with that, many countries still struggling with COVID cases, lockdown and/or slow vaccine rollout - the picture does not look too rosy. We have to take the positives from this, with the UK and USA rolling out the vaccine and starting to get back to a normal way of life - there is light at the end of the tunnel.

It’s inevitable that you will have participants who become sick or injured while on program, and you may even have a participant who is hospitalized with a life-threatening injury or illness. These kinds of situations are already stressful enough, so it’s important to have someone who can provide you with assistance and updates as quickly as possible.
In our latest education article, we discuss what you can expect from your account manager when these kinds of situations arise. From more minor incidents, like the flu or a sprained ankle, to major incidents that involve inpatient hospitalization, emergency evacuation, or repatriation - this article will detail the level of involvement that different situations require and how your account manager can help!
Seeking Treatment - Updated!
Over the last month, we have been working hard to update the Seeking Treatment section of our Students Zones to better incorporate information and guidance for participants. The main changes we have made include:
New Seeking Treatment Video - at just 2 and a half minutes, our new seeking treatment video is a short overview of the main steps participants will need to take when seeking medical care.
Updated Seeking Treatment PDF Overview - our one-page overview sheet on the steps to seek medical care has been updated.
Telemedicine - telemedicine services are now available in all of our plans, and guidance is given to participants to seek treatment through this method first.
Provider Direction - better guidance when needing to locate an in-person medical facility, to keep participants away from the Emergency Room, unless actually needed.
All these new changes are now live in your Student Zone, and you are free to use these resources in any of your orientations. If you would like to use the videos, please reach out to your account manager and we will be happy to assist you!
Welcome to the Team!
Envisage Global Insurance would like to welcome Natalie Holland to the account management team! Natalie received her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of North Florida. After studying in North Africa and a solo backpacking trip through Europe, Natalie knew that she wanted to work at a global level. After working with refugees in Jacksonville, Florida for several years, her path led her to join the EGI team. We’re excited to have her onboard and we know you’ll enjoy working with her!
Now is a great time to review and compare your insurance options. We will be happy to provide a free, no obligation proposal so you can see what is available and what options you have in the market. A few highlights of our plans:
